I had not kept up with him...
May 2012
Bucs re-signed franchise player K Connor Barth to a four-year, $13.2 million contract.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the deal includes $4 million in guarantees. He was due $2.6 million under the franchise tag. Barth was arguably the Bucs' most consistent offensive weapon last year, banging home 26-of-28 field goals, including 13-of-14 from 40-49 yards out.
July 2013
Bucs K Connor Barth is out for the season after tearing his Achilles' tendon during a charity basketball game.
Barth has been one of the game's most consistent kickers, topping 100 points in three straight seasons while converting 86.5 percent of his field goals during that span.
MISSED THE ENTIRE 2013 SEASON
Cut in the Bucs 2014 preseason. Not picked up until November 2014 by the Broncos replacing waived McManus. Went 15 of 16 in 5 games
Cut by the Broncos in the 2015 preseason. They went back to younger McManus
Bucs signed him again after Denver. He lost camp competition to Brindza. Four weeks later he returned going 23 of 28.
Bucs draft Aguayo and he is gone again.
Maybe I'm just remembering his 2009-12 seasons with the Bucs but he was pretty reliable. 16 for 25 over 50 yds lifetime. Some clutch kicks vs. the Saints seem to rattle in the memory back there too.
Of the merry go round of veteran kickers out there, I think he has some keeper potential.
