Novak wins this year

Agreed, though I'm a Djok fan so take it for what's worth. I kinda think that Novak's antics in Rome last week were a sign that he's locked in on the French and ready to get there and be done with all the tuneups. He was playing last week like a guy who was obligated to play but didn't have his heart in it, and his irritability stemmed from that IMO.

What we know as of now is that he and Andy as the top 2 seeds will be on opposite sides of the draw (obviously). The Rome Final was probably the best match I've seen Andy play since the 2013 Wimbledon final. He's played well on clay for the last 2 seasons now, and I won't be shocked at all if he reaches the final at the French.

With Fed's withdrawal Novak gets either Rafa or Stan in the semis (assuming favorites win out of course). Rafa's form has improved the last couple months but I don't think he's back yet. Stan has been awful the last 3 months but you never know when he'll go God-mode (see French Open 2015).

It'll be interesting to see which quarter Nishikori falls in as the 5 seed. He had a strong clay court campaign this season (as well as the last couple seasons). His biggest thing is just staying healthy which is usually his downfall in the best of 5 slam format.

Should have some very interesting round of 16 matchups this year with guys like Thiem, Monfils, and Goffin all being in good form.

Draw is released tomorrow morning. Can't wait!

I'll be shocked to see him in the final if Nadal is on his side of the draw. In form though he may be, I simply cannot envision him beating Rafael Nadal in a five set match on clay in the semifinals of Roland Garros. My simple mind is unable to imagine a reality where such an event takes place.

Djoker trying to complete the career grand slam, Rafa and Murray both in good form, and The Stanimal can beat anyone on any given day. The top 4 seeds are very strong indeed.
