The main movie cliches I hate usually involve the score.
I've really enjoyed the change in musical scores in recent years, where the composer and director realize that sometimes no music in a brutal action scene actually enhances the brutality of the scene more than a dramatic flourish would. The same can be said for the lack of a flourish or crescendo during a reveal.
