He hopes to be ready by July. He's coming off his second Tommy John surgery. Of note, this is a Major League deal. Not a bad flyer for the Cubs.

Be a good way to keep some bullpen arms fresh for the post season. Can't imagine there's much upside here. Just seems unrealistic that he coudl be used in high leverage situations but either way i like it.

Is this more of an insurance policy type signing? Are the Cubs concerned about Strop and/or Rondon? Or, as stated, a way to possibly keep arms fresh later this summer?

Good luck. He was complete trash when he played with Detroit and everyone thought they were getting a good closer.
