Meh, give me a bad arse Brahman all day, the longhorns dont really do anything for me. But then again I guess I am bias, Brahman is in my blood. Matter of fact making 1500 in straw purchase next week.

I'm curious what your fascination is with Longhorns.
They don't produce as high quality beef as Angus, albeit they are a leaner carcass.
If lean beef is the aim then Piedmontese is the superior breed. I'm biased as Piedmontese is the breed I plan to build a herd of. For what I value there's just not a better breed.
I have a good friend that loves Longhorns and has begun using the hides to make belts and cushions and other leather products after they're processed.
Maybe it's my hate for the U. of Texas but I've never understood with the obsessions with that breed.
