He took it to get serviced at the dealership? That guy must love getting ripped off.

As for going exclusively to the dealership, he probably got screwed for the first few visits, but in college we used to take care of our regulars. Eventually they would get everything at cost plus 10%. Tires at cost plus 5 bucks.
As much free press as the brand was getting when he was in their dealership, it's worth it.

For oil changes? And all original? And a million miles in 8+ years? Nah.
We had a dodge fleet that never made it to 75k without some sort of power train replacement

Article said he averaged 125,000 miles per year. That's a lot of frequent oil changes.
