Then D&D started making major changes that George couldn't control, killing characters off, completely omitting major characters. No link, but I don't think I've seen a GRRM interview where he doesn't reference the amount of characters killed in the show that are alive in the books and look pissed about it.

Well there was no way to not cut out characters. Martin knew that from the start. And the reason he probably looks pissed isn't because they did, it's because he's tired of being asked about it a million times. Also keep in mind, until it became obvious to him they were quickly catching up so he better get busy, he was writing an episode a year. So it's not like he could have been too upset.

Also, he wrote to his fans on his blog to leave him alone with their complaints about the show's divergence from the novels saying he has nothing to do with that.

Again, not frustration with the series, frustration with book readers complaining over and over. If he was really upset with the show he wouldn't be trying to get them to do a spinoff after the main show ends.

I remember his editor tweeting last year during season 5 to read the books if you wanted the story the way the author intended.

Again, just a reply to angry book readers complaints that's pretty much common sense.

No, those are GRRM's thoughts that he can't say aloud. That's obvious
