i'm at crossroads because while he hasn't exactly accomplished anything of note, he inherited a complete dumpster fire that hadn't yet surfaced before he got here.

We're a POS state that desperately needs to shut down obsolete universities, and it's simply out of his hands.

I'd prefer someone with a stem background or someone who came from a peer institution we're aspiring to be, like Ohio State or UGA

eta: i 100% agree that he's a pr nightmare for LSU though

You're right that he inherited a shite show from a budgetary standpoint. But if you really think the state of higher ed in Louisiana wasn't clearly in horrible disrepair prior to 2013, you've had your head in the sand.

Both my wife (college statistics professor) and I (university communications coordinator) work in higher ed. And this statement makes absolutely no sense if you're assuming that STEM majors would have a skill set that would make them somehow better able to handle the job.

He was hired because he was suppose to be the guy that could handle the budget situation the best. I think it is safe to give him a big ole fat F on that issue. Instead of getting creative all he has done is play fear tactics and whine to Congress. There are alot of issues with the budget that are outside his control, but he has done nothing to fix the situation.
