Why is that funny?
We are a year removed from seeing guys like Greg Monroe, Wes Matthews, and enes kanter get mad deals last summer.
There will be ample completion for batum's services, the hornets especially will want him back. Guy will get a max deal, bet

IDK why people are scoffing at the notion Batum may get a max.
Because it's likely happening people. Just like those people thinking Ryno could be retained on a reasonable deal. These are pipe dreams unfortunately.
The market is flush with cash and the supply of worthy talent that justifies their cost is not. Which makes it ripe for overpayments. I would be more shocked if Batum or Ryno don't get close to maxes somewhere.
