I think the Clippers would be dumb to blow this team up (with the exception of losing Pierce and Prigioni). They ran into horrible injury luck this year and they have as good of a chance as anyone of knocking off the Warriors or Spurs.

I thought this originally too, but I noticed in Game 4 in this series and with the Rockets last year, the Clippers give up when the game gets tough. Blake is awesome but he still doesn't have a good post game and disappears at times. Henderson, Aminu, and Harkless did good job on him defensively.

They can beat any of those teams in ONE series but they'd lose in the next round just like last year.

ETA: They have the same problem as they've had last few years, CP3 and a bunch of volume shooters (outside of Reddick) they need more consistent shooters and players in general.

The clippers are basically the spurs pre Duncan... First round playoff purgatory

Here is the problem.. They have stats guys and not a good team. Their center is the worst ft shooter in the NBA. You can get away with that if your shaq. Not if your deandre Jordan.

Your star player peeked 3 years ago . A power forwardt whose best asset is his athletic ability yet shoots 45% of his shots beyond 16ft were he's a 33% shooter.

Chris Paul is the best most complete point guard in the NBA and it's not close. 45/40/90 guy offensively, 4 to 1 assist to turnover ratio and is an all defense level defender.. Can pretty much shut down any point guard not named curry when he puts his mind to it.

Reddick is this generation's hornacek

The Team is built around Griffin And it should be built around Paul. The power forward should be a classic stretch Four with excellent three point shooting ability and the center should excel in pick and pop situations. They need a 3-d guy at SF and a bench with more than the coaches son and a 55 year old over drubbling pg.

I don't see this team going any further then they are

1. Get Chris bosh. I don't care how. Two players have never been talior made for each other like Chris and Chris. Chris Paul would have 15 dimes a game kicking it out to bosh for the three. Miami is going to max whiteside and will not be paying max to two centers.

Griffin for bosh works straight up financially

https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6684817

Though I'd make the heat throw in next year's first (deep draft) and I would love to get Gerald green somehow for the bench but he's a free agent.

Bosh is 32 and has blood clot issues but Griffin himself is not a picture of health and bosh game is like dirk he will be a high level player well into his late 30s he's not a banger.

The heat will do this cause Wade is old as hell and Griffin can play along whiteside who is a better version of Jordan

2.trade Jordan for a pick and pop guy. Kanter would be perfect but won't happen. Cousins would work but the clips don't have what the Kings want in return.

The best I could come up with that makes sense logically and works financially is Jordan and Pierce (under contract for next year) to the sun's for Chandler, bledsoe, Goodwin and this year's first. That first is the equivalent of the screetch music stopping but Chandler is in his 30s and without it this trade makes no sense. I think they could swing if with a 2016- top 5 2017 - top 10 2018- top 3 2019 unprotected draft pick.

Sun's will happily send bledsoe packing bledsoe and Knight are Interchangeable financially and both are point guards bledsoe is better but never healthy. Sun's have to decide which they want as their starter next to Booker. Goodwin sucks dick but is young and in a year or two can be a serviceable bench rotation guy. Chandler is what you want. 79% of his shots come within 3 feet where he shoots 69% and 80% of all his shots come within 10 feet. He's 33 but he's an elite athlete and still has 3 or so years left IMHO. He's gonna get you 10 points 13 boards a block on 30 mins a night while shooting a high percentage and can hit free throws. Bledsoe boosters the bench, use the draft pick to take the best defensive small forward you can, ID go Timothe Luwawu but jaylen brown works.

3. Let Crawford walk. His per has declined 3 consecutive years. He's not getting younger. He's gonna want 7-10 million frick that.

.
4. Try to sign deng. Clips will have about a projected 10 million under the cap go play with. I doubt he leaves Miami but he'd be a perfect fit. Joe Johnson is really a shooting guard and isnt a good enough defender for what they need.Nene would be another home run with Paul very high % pick and pop guy

Long but that's what I would do. Half arse blow up rebuild around Paul like the nets did with kidd
