This is not the thread for this but whether you are paying the price through the bill or in the phone, you are paying the same price. If you go to someone like T Mobile, you may pay less but it's b/c you are getting worse service.
The real issue facing Apple is not the price of the phone but that now people are starting to keep their phones longer. The best android phones are price very close to IPhones.

Agree, mostly. Your point about people keeping phones longer is a very important one. And, i can get a nexus for 399
