Depends on what you are into and also where you are staying - that will factor into some of your choices. World of Coke, Aquarium, College Football HOF and CNN are all right together around Centennial Park.
Oakland Cemetery is the final resting place of Margaret Mitchell, Bobby Jones, several former governors and a lot of cool architecture for mausoleums, and it isn't far from Turner Field.
Food wise, Six Feet Under is really good and is right across the street from Oakland. The Vortex in Little 5 Points has great burgers (and L5P is great for people watching) but it is 21 and up and allows smoking inside, so it may not be the best place to take a pregnant wife. Also, Fox Brothers BBQ on Dekalb Avenue just outside of L5P is probably the best BBQ in Atlanta.
Stone Mountain is nice, as someone has said.
Shopping depends on what your taste is. Lenox is in town and somewhat higher end. Perimeter Mall or Mall of Georgia are more of a typical suburban shopping experience.

Go to Perimeter over Mall of Georgia
I thought about Vortex too, but the smoking thing could be an issue. I have not had an issue, but it is a possibility.
