I have been doing it for years. You can purchase small books and record all your information in it. It is great to look back and see your when and where from previous trips.

i started back in 04. actually built a web app to track it but never got to transfer all the data from word to it.
Honestly i like just reading through it cause it actually triggers the memory of that trip in your head when you read it. Pretty weird how that works. It does somewhat help with seasonal patterns, but over time I've learn to try not to fish too much on history. Places change and so do the fish. Try to fish the moment and then fall back on the history stuff.
