That sethoxydim is a selective herbicide that kills only grasses.. It's good for spraying grasses in vegetable gardens and flower beds...but if you did spray it it'd be a spot treatment... shits expensive for the amount you get.. at our local store its $25 for 8oz. If you are spot treating I'd just spray it with roundup being you're going to kill your existing grass within the area your spraying the crabgrass anyway..Or any other non-selective herbicide... My .02

Sethoxydim is fine to spray on centipede grass lawns. I'm currently using it to suppress a torpedo grass infestation.
However, on spot treatment the roundup would be a much cheaper and to the point option as you mentioned. When I use roundup (glyphosate) on spot treatment, I'm very very careful to minimize non target grass.
