The AR in my sig I built up with a dedicated 22LR upper. I love the setup. Everyone loves to shoot it. I always have people asking me about it on the range and get lots of compliments on it. But...

I have several options in the gun cabinet in 22LR so as much as I love it I think I'm going to move the 22LR setup to a black upper to use with my black lowers and rebuild my in the white set to something different. I want to keep the upper and lower as a matched set.

Only caliber I will immediately discount is 556. Don't need another one.

9mm would be pretty fun as that was my original intention to build this in 9mm. I have a couple of 9mm PCCs already (although both are limited in capacity, HiPernt and a Marlin Camp 9).

6.8 is the next. I do want something in that caliber. It wold give me an AR platform rifle I wouldn't mind using on Deer or Hog. But from a more practical perspective maybe trying to hunt with a silver receiver set and maybe a matching matte stainless steel barrel a bad idea? Not sure if a matte silver of a stainless barrel might spook prey? I've always hunted with black, wood, or camo guns so I don't know how much that matters to four legged creatures with no feathers or wings.

300BO. Any practical use if I don't plan on suppressing? Not sure why I would want one over 6.8.

762x39? An abomination in the AR platform.

Something else I missed?

Dedicated 9mm lowers are more reliable and better magazine options.

Color wont matter. Short barrel will. If you don't mind going back out to 16-18", good idea.

Nope. I love mine, but it wears a can.

Nope. Mags cost too much and are far too unreliable.

Why not just keep it since you like it, and build another one from scratch?

If you do just want to change it what do you really want to do with it? 9mm and 6.8 are two totally different ends of the caliber spectrum.
