I'm gonna edit a few times bc there's a lot to reply to...

My return flight is also out of Milan.

My thoughts as well. You have to see soccer in Europe even if it isn't your favorite sport. It is interwoven into the culture.

Not a huge soccer fan, but would like to see the netherlands or PSG play. I'd also be down to watch Messi and Barcelona but idk how expensive it would be.

Obviously start in Italy and work your way to Switzerland then France then Spain then England then I'd do a week in Ireland and then Iceland and then back to Germany into Austria and back to Milan for the flight home.

thanks soccerfüt. That was actually my exact plan, but austria instead of germany because I already did a long trip in Germany

I did Cinque Terre and Paris with a GF, so that probably made it a little more special. Cinque Terre is just a neat place and pictures don't do it justice. I really enjoyed the hikes and wandering down side streets in each little town. Can't beat the red wine anywhere in Italy.

The others I mentioned I did with a good friend. We had a blast everywhere, but those were highlights. Of those, 2 places you will want to check out regardless of going solo or with someone is Dublin & Amsterdam. Just be personable and it's hard not to have a good time. Helped I had the World Cup literally every night of my trip also.

Don't forget seat61.com. This site was a huge help for me in trying to figure out train routes and times. Helped tremendously.
