Will they hire someone before bowl game? Carr is coaching the bowl game, interesting!

They'll hire someone soon whoever can get some recruiting in before signing day.

I think Michigan is gonna help Les out by hiring Urban Meyer...

Speculation is one thing, they may hire someone soon. But the only reliable data (meaning it does not come from ESPN, KH or the Det/AA media) is Bill Martin's statements: "We are going to follow our process;" "I hope to have this done by the end of Dec.;" and "I am taking this underground." I think the last means that he wants it done out of public view if possible.

Sure seems like he is doing exactly what he said. At this point, I would expect a non-Mich Man to be hired. It will either be very big or a totally unexpected choice.

My money is on one of four:

Mark Richt - GA
Chris Petersen - Boise St.
John Tenuta - DC Ga. Tech
Urban Meyer - Fla.

First, you will see a very public interview with an appropriate minority candidate so that Mich's very PC Adminsitration will not have to answer questions from the Black Coaches Association and the media. Karl Dorell would seem a likely candidate, but the choice is secondary. They need someone other than Ron English whose courtesy interview may not be strong enough to fit the minority watchdog's criteria anyway.

And we thought Bama Fan was delusional. Hey Wolverine fan, remove Richt and Meyer from that list and you got a 50/50 shot. But Peterson would really have to evaluate whether UM is a better job than BSU at this point.

We can dream!!!

Any clue as to why the top SEC coaches, Urban Meyer, Les Miles and Nick Saban are from the midwest? Are they successful because of the talent in the South? Is it that their styles are new and that gives them an edge (at least in the short run)? Why are they the coveted ones in the SEC? Why not Richt? Or, Nutt? Or, Tubberville?

At this point I believe anyone can be a candidate. I believe it will be someone not even being talked about

Schiano's getting a lot of talk in my house but not so much elsewhere. I just have a feeling this whole thing is only going to get crazier. If anyone correctly guesses the next coach it will be sheer luck.

He is high on Martin's list. Would be a good choice.

Richt and Meyer are pipe dreams, and I don't know why UM would hire a coordinator other than promoting fro within.

That one is easy. They are all Lloyd's friends. None other than Ron English is even being looked at for another serious job. No one was hanging around Mich tryin to take our assts. not even minor programs. They aren't that good. Lloyd liked loyalists not necessarily quality.

Bo on the other hand liked strong assts. and he had some very good ones: Don James (Washington), Bill McCartney (Colorado), Les Miles all come to mind. All have or will have won the NC.

Well that gives me some hope that we could get a good coach. All this waiting and speculation is driving me nuts!
