It probably doesn't have terminal strips near the battery. Was the previous bilge pump switched from the console? You should have a switch at the console to turn on manually along with activation from the float switch.

I would only use ancor marine tinned ring terminals on the boat. You can get them from amazon and save money over west marine.

Any wiring you use should be tinned copper as well.

While you are in there, remove the wing nuts off the batteries and replace with lock nuts.

Don't forget you will need a fuse on the wire from the positive side of the battery to the float switch of the bilge pump.

There is a switch on the console but the previous pump wasnt connected to it for manual op (which is ideal I agree). The new pump has an integrated float switch built in, its not a separate item.
