re: Estes Park, CO area

Actually The Shining was not filmed at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. The Stanley is where Stephen King stayed that inspired his writing of The Shining.

Been to Estes probably around twelve times. Stayed at Windcliff each time. Across from the largest YMCA in the U.S. Well, it was at one time. My favorite place in the country and I've been to a ton of places in the United States. Go to Moraine Park in Rocky Mountain National Park. Not far at all from the entrance at Estes.
