All the go fast pussy boats in south Florida have them. 50' center consoles with quads, couches, teak decks, Italian leather, LEDs, spray tans, and $50k sound systems.

They make a ton of power. Tim Allen tells me that's good. If they're more efficient with more power, it doesn't seem that outrageous. The only problem is the price, but maybe they're working towards a 400

The argument can be made that the Chevy small block is one of the most simple and reliable gas-burning engines on the planet. I don't know if this would directly translate for an aquatic outboard, but it's definitely true of street cars. Go to YouTube and type in "LS swap" and see how many videos pop up.
