If the true owner is a dead person, is the item really stolen? Do dead people have property rights?

How are there any more posts in this thread after "Dead ringer"?

The document which dictates where a dead persons property will go? What about it? The decadents property is being transferred to living people, and what's not included in a will is transferred according to law. Which seems to indicate that a dead person doesn't own anything.

The thief damaged the corpse's finger during the theft.
Is that a dead battery charge?

Seriously though, if it's theft to steal from a corpse then why wouldn't it also be a battery to touch a corpse without the corpse's consent?

Could you imagine if a loved one of the deceased walked up behind that lady while she was stealing jewelry off of her? Good lord... I would have saw it as a free pass to stomp her big fat arse into an inch of her life.

The lady with the 3.2 foot wide arse needs to decease and desist.

Ironically this time the perp fingered the victim.
"With this ring, I thee fled."
The perp was mad when she had a chance to closely inspect the ring. There was an engraving on the inside of it that said "Remember to drink your Ovaltine!"

All states have statutes against corpse abuse.

The corpse that is the City of New Orleans needs a statute against statue abuse.
