I'm inpatient, so I prefer LGA because you jump in a cab and go straight to your destination. If traveling alone, consider Newark, but if you have others with you and suitcases, having a cab is preferable imho. If going solo with a small carry on/backpack, Newark is fine (assuming the train from Newark and a cab from Laguardia). Do not recommend a cab from Newark.
