Houston is in the south whether people want to believe it or not. Kinda weird how folks want to deny it as if being in the south is some great honor that can only be bestowed by the cultural gatekeepers of the OT.
Accepting that Houston is in the south, it is no surprise that the region's biggest, most diverse, most international, and most cosmopolitan city would have the best food. No, it won't beat New Orleans on Louisiana food ... But Houston has just about every kind of food imaginable because it is a world class city.

Houston is midwest/southwest. That city is as "southern" as Cleveland. Stop trying to make it something it's not.
