Atlanta is easily the biggest carpetbagger metro in the south. Alpharetta, Norcross, down to Midtown don't have any fricking southerners left that aren't transplants themselves. It's a mixture of midwesterners, northeasterners, people from MS,AL,TN,SC,NC,FL...and Mid-Atlantic fricks. Not to mention the Hondurans, Salvadorans and Mexicans, in increasing numbers. Atlanta hasn't been a southern town since the late 1980's.
Houston is the international city of the south, probably by a good margin. But 30-40 years ago you could call Houston a southern town and nobody would've disagreed. Things have changed, for the better and for the worst.
