What could we possibly get in return that would justify having taken him? A 3rd in the hand is worth a 2nd in the bush. And I can't see a scenario where he plays well enough to show he is worth a 2nd or 1st to another team without being worth more to us as a starter. I agree that if he doesn't wind up starting, it was a wasted pick. And like someone mentioned earlier, we aren't in a position to be wasting picks in the early rounds.

That said, meeting with QBs means nothing. It could be leverage against Drew, a ploy to get someone to trade up either with us or above us to grab a QB we were never going to take. But, it's likely just doing their due diligence. If they have a QB ranked 15 overall on their big board and he's still there at 42, that value is too good to pass up. Chances are terribly slim that will play itself out that way, though.
