As a huge baseball fan (and diehard Braves fan FWIW), this may just be the most ignorant idea I have ever seen. What you are suggesting is not only ridiculous but would be damn near impossible to pull it off. Not to mention, having played catcher myself, I can truly say that I felt more comfortable using a mitt than any other glove and still do to this day. OFs are taught to one hop or two hop the throw because it minimizes ball flight and time to plate. Catchers are taught to receive the ball with two hands (one over the mitt) to ensure it doesn't pop out. IMHO it isn't more difficult to catch a ball with a mitt, particularly when that is the only thing you practice with.

Yes it is.It may have been a better fit for you but for fielding a one or two hopper and then using a swipe tag
which can only be done with one hand BTW,it is far from efficient.

Once again,I see MLB catchers constantly drop/miss this play.Wonder why?
