I remember that period when she was referred to as Patty Duke-Astin. Gomez is 16 years older. She thought Little Ricky was the biological father, but, turns out it was her pre-Gomez husband, William Tell (not of the Lone Ranger Overture, but another guy), who was the biological father of Samwise - and that marriage was annulled.
One hates to speak ill of the dead, but she kind of "got around" as the kids say.
RIP, regardless. Talented lady.
