Is it? What possible benefit is there to firing Demps now as opposed to 2-3 weeks from now? This isn't like a HC position where now is a time you may need to send signals and put out feelers to college coaches if they are possible replacements. Demps has made some questionable decisions, but I don't think people question the work such as scouting like we did with Shinn/Bower. Firing Demps now just means fewer people doing the same amount of work prepping for the offseason.
Now I do worry that either Demps and Gentry are tied at the hip like he claimed a few days ago, or winning the lottery could create enough excitement and distraction to save his job. But those are separate issues that have nothing to do with whether firing someone before you can line up a replacement is a good idea.
On top of all that, and this is a reason for Loomis to fire himself, Loomis is kind of busy right now with the Saints.

I'm not saying he must be fired today. But I don't see why he should lead the rebuild

What scouting lol? They haven't made a pick that was impactful outside of AD. People credit Dell way too much on his role player acquisitions.
