The thing is that as has been said before it only takes 1 person to recognize her then it will spread throughout her whole community. People love to gossip. She might be fine for a while, but it only takes that one event to happen to ruin her whole environment.

And yes, people would care. The disdain of people in this thread is evidence enough. Most people would not take her seriously in her profession. Most would assume that she's stupid and/or incompetent. Definite rumors that she's giving sexual favors for advancement. Women would find her sexually threatening. And a small group of the more religious in the community would assume that she's a sexual deviant and molester (that's why she could never get a job that works with children in any way.)

I'm limited in how badly I feel for her because she made this decision, and she should have thought of the consequences. It's still interesting to think of some of the hypocrisy.
