This isn't true.

That may be how people choose, but the child is not legally the responsibility of the God parents if the parents die. The idea is they are the ones that make sure the child is raised in the ways of the church.

Im certainly not splitting up my kids if me and my wife die, and absolute I'll not be sending my oldest to live with my brother in law.
