I read it all.

I respect a glass half full outlook but there's a line between optimisim and being pollyannish.

I
quote:

.

Don't need to look up the term, have used it many times to colleagues in pointing out what they percieved as "overly optimistic" point-of- view. Not being confrontational, but prhaps you can tell me what is "pollyanish" about the comment shared? Have we not arrived as an "elite" program? Are those coaches not at, or going to some storied-type programs? Do we not have the assets I describe? Personally, if I were the CEO of such an organizaiton, I would relish the thought of leading that organization. That's all I am trying to say!

Had to give this thread a bump...

Oh what a difference 15 hours makes...

Just this morning pjtiger wrote a well thought out piece "WE ARE THE LSU TIGERS!!!!!!"...

Basically encouraging the LSU fans to keep their heads up and appreciate the strength of our program and stating that we'd be fine.

pjtiger was slammed by some and accused of sugar coating it!

In the short 15 hours since then LSU has retained Les as their head coach (most successful three year run in LSU history), Won an SEC Championship, and quite possible could be playing for the National Championship.

I'm thinking the glass is a little more than half full.
