If we started going after assistants, maybe. He'll be a successful coach one day. I'd like to see him at LSU in about 10 years.

The kid is one of the best DC's in the country. However, I don't think LSU is a place for a new HC to "learn the ropes". With that being said, I hope he lands a HC job soon, he deserves it.

My take on Muschamp:
He is a great defensive coordinator and coach. He fires his players up, and he coaches them throughout the game. If you watch an Auburn game, he is a cheerleader for them when the defense is on the field, and he is a teacher when the offense is on the field.
I don't see that transitioning well to a headcoach position where he would have to be focused on the field 100% of the time. He could do it, but I think in doing so you would take away one of his biggest strenghts.
Coordinators who sit in the box all game make a much easier (and better) transition to head coach because they aren't tasked with actually coaching during the game.
