Recommend me an auto rust preventative / sealant

I recently bought a 2011 vehicle and had an inspection at the local dealership. The vehicle had previously been owned up north and has some rust on the underbody, but nothing major or affecting moving parts. My guy at the dealership recommended that I just get a wire brush and knock off some of the rust and then spray it with a sealant product.
I forgot to get a specific brand name from him, and after some googling, I'm still not really sure what to buy. Could the OT guide me to a specific product for this application?

I know of some stuff that will turn everything gray it touches. I assume on underbody none at all will be showing? It's in spray can, I'll go look in my truck, can't remember what it's called.

Rustoleum- self etching primer is what I was thinking of
Eta: After reading post below maybe you shouldn't use what I said.

What is it on and what color are you considering? If it is on the frame, then I would say use some POR 15. Probably just get a sample bottle, it is bad arse stuff and goes along way.
Starter kit 21 bucks and damn near bulletproof.

Knock off the loose stuff with a wire brush as suggested and spray it with Rustoleum "Rust-reformer" it will chemically neutralize the oxidation process, then spray it with Rustolem "undercoating" spray. Used both on my old Jeeps with great results.

Only luck I ever had with the older jeeps was a sawzaw. That non treated stuff just gets the cancer to deep to treat.
