I imagine a college coach prefers kids who think they can go pro. Not sure I'd want too many kids if any at all who when asked answer "I think I'll be ok playing at college maybe, but no way I'll ever play beyond college". I'd want a kid who says "i know I have a lot of work to do to get there but I know I can go pro with hard work and training"

"Can" and "will" are two different issues. Question was whether everyone thinks they will go pro.
