I want to ask a question, and I'm seriously curious about this: How do you know that Saban is miserable at Alabama? Give me credible sources, not somebody told someone's cousin who told somebody else. I'm not saying he's not, I just want to know when he said it and to whom, otherwise, it's just another rumor. And don't tell me "you can just tell by looking at him". You people are sounding like a jilted lover who will always believe that "he always loved you best -just BECAUSE", regardless of the obvious fact that he's moved on. Do you know how silly that sounds? From what I've picked up about Saban, he makes his home wherever he is and doesn't fall in love with any place. He just does his job, which he loves best. I know the BOT at Bama can be a pill to deal with, but it's my understanding that they've backed off a lot and given him more free reign than any coach ever hired there. His wife gushes about how much she loves their home in T-Town, and they're very involved in the community there. They don't look unhappy to me, but I'm NOT saying they aren't. Because if he doesn't want to be there, most Bama fans will tell you LET HIM GO, AND GOOD RIDDANCE. We don't all drink the Sabanaid up here. We've been down that road (Francione) and if we even smell that sort of sentiment, we lose interest real fast and we'll load him up and dump him in B.R. for ya. He's not God, after all. Only serious answers please, because I'm not flaming - AND I'm pulling for the Tigers to win the SECCG,so I'm not a hater.

If Saban is miserable, it's because the end of the season went into the toilet. He's clearly been pissed - more so than usual - while on camera of late. Again...I think it's cuz of losing.

The folks who say Saban will jump to LSU are inferring that he'll be happier - by wining - in Baton Rouge.

But that's just my opinion...

PitBull,

I said we ALL don't drink the Sabanaid. Some obviously do, but I'm not one of them, and you'd probably be surprised how many don't. A lot of us are still very skeptical about this guy. So my statement was quite accurate.

Garmisch tiger,

I get your point, and I see the frustration, but he knew coming in that this program was in disarray. It will be a challenge, but he is cleaning up in recruiting this year, he's eating Tubby's lunch out there on the recruiting trail in this state alone, and it's just a matter of time until he will be winning at Alabama. Alabama wants to win, will be eating out of his hands when he wins, and he will have a statue if he ever wins a NC there. He's in an atmosphere where they CRAVE winning. So does he want instant gratification, or does he want to build something which is very much HIS OWN? I understand his ties to LSU - he helped your program tremendously. But he can do no less at Alabama, the school is loaded with money and will give him whatever he needs to get it done. I've got friends who know members of the UA BOT, and he can pretty much do what he wants, for the most part, according to them. So what's the beef? Besides the crappy bunch of underachievers we have right now on our team? LSU wasn't loaded when he went there, and he didn't seem to mind the building process.

ForeverLSU,

Yeah, I guess you're right...Dinardo had some pretty good guys there, but Alabama isn't just a total wasteland either. Not yet....

I don't see him as a saviour, and the only reason I'd be concerned about him leaving is because of the further instability it will cause. I think he's a good recruiter and could build the program back up, but I don't think many Bama fans ever thought he'd stay more than 4 years. A lot of us see him as the mercenary he probably is, and Alabama needs a tough coach right now to straighten things out, and most realistic fans never thought he'd be there long term. I'm sure there are a lot of coaches out there with that work ethic who could do that, and if he leaves, we'll just find another one - maybe not as good, but maybe better. A lot of us just are curious about whether he's actually talked to LSU about this, and if he's actually expressed unhappiness with Alabama. You won't get straight answers on a Bama board about that, so I thought I'd ask here.

That's the thing about Saban. You never know what the hell this man has up his sleeve. He is very unpredictable, on and off the field

Saban is interested in the job. He is. Face it. He's trying to get back to BR. Half the folks in a position to make that decision want him; another half don't. He's probably coming back. Like it...or not.

The Bammers are an interesting lot. They remind me of the guy who's cheating with another man's wife but wants to be all surprised when she cheats on him.

"'CNS' (I hate the way the Bammers use these initials, too) is very happy here. We're Alabama, why would he ever leave us, etc??"

Saban would come back to BR and LSU with its full cupboard and rich recruiting base, where he and his wife (not well known) have lots of lucrative investments, etc. There are lots of good reasons to come "home" to BR. He's been in T-town for less than a year. He lived here for 5 football seasons.

I will lmao when he comes back. 4 million a year for 6 wins, the key to every high school in Alabama, intricate inside knowledge of a big SEC West Rival, and a long term deal in BR with a whopper of a buy out.

It's not a certainty, but it is likely.

I think it's a 2 horse race between Tubby and Saban...Tubby is smoke screening with Arkansas right now to see if LSU offers after Miles and Pelini take off by middle of next week...Guarantee you that LSU intermediaries have been activated on both possibilities....Miles is gone so we need start thinking about the long term with this program...We can't go back to days when I was at LSU during the Hallman era...it would be criminal...

Saban was at the LSU Athletic offices last night. This is from someone who works there and SAW him. I also know for a fact that Saban contacted Orgeron after he was fired last week about a position on his staff.

Get ready people. The two people made fun of the most on this site in the past few years may be working at LSU next year.

and I would welcome him back...Again people, you have to see this in a historical perspective...we can not go back to the Archer/Hallman days...we need to go with a proven winner who knows how to recruit LA...

Not at all. It's more like your employee leaving for a higher paying more prestigious job, realizing it wasn't what it was cracked up to be, then going to work for your competition because you didn't have any job openings.

BINGO!!! We have a winner!!! I've been saying the exact same thing.
