I hate all the Automatic bids to shite teams like Southern and FGCU.

If they allowed all the decent Power 5 teams that made the NIT in as a 13-16 seed, this tournament would be so much better.

And yes, the bottom seed of an NIT team would probably beat a 1 seed at least 5-10% of the time. It's essentially like LSU beating Oregon on a neutral floor. Not out of the question at all.

So you shouldn't get in for winning your conference? Then what's the point of the conference?

I'd rather see a mid or lower major conference champion in the tournament than the 8th place team in the SEC.

yes it is

LSU was terrible down the stretch this season. The P5 conferences aren't really "Power" conferences in basketball either. The SEC is terrible at basketball. Terrible.
