Not sure why people go to the doctor every single time they feel sick.

Unless it's something super serious, drink plenty of fluids, rest and take any non prescription medication that may help.

If you are still violently ill a week later, then go.

No wonder healthcare is so damn expensive.

I go if I suspect flu. They do a nasal swab and know in minutes.

If I have it, I know to stay away from coworkers and others to avoid spreading it, and I can get an Rx to help some.

Last time I had the flu, the symptoms were very mild (I had the flu shot, which can reduce symptoms even if you still get the flu), and I was on the way to work when I got checked just in case. Good thing I checked, or I would have exposed a bunch of other folks.

I believe that lies on the hands of a government that forces hospitals by law to treat anything that comes through its doors, and they have to push prices up on the insured to cover the lost funds. Hence Mid City closing down its ER.

Because it takes all of an hour or so to drop in the "Doc in a box" as my parents always called it when I was a kid, and get a shot or a prescription for some tamiflu or cough syrup that makes your illness much more tolerable.

Or you could just be a stubborn dumb shite and not go at all until you realize you fricked up and now you have pneumonia because your sinus drainage got in your lungs while you were sleeping and therefore your medical expenses will be quadrupled as they do chest xrays and have to prescribe antibiotics and you have to miss work and possibly be put in the hospital..... All because you were too cool to get a shot in the arse at the "doc in a box" when you first started feeling shitty.
