so since we're on the subject does anyone have a 20 long or a skimmer they want to get rid of?

also, any reason the stand below might not hold a 55gal 48x18 tank?

Looks sturdy enough to me. Can't be any worse than the particle board that wal-mart sells. That tank should weigh about 450 lbs or so before substrate.

That stand is definitely enough for a 55gal tank You have more support than my 100gal stand does.

Also I have a 20 gal long if you want it

You should have no problem putting a four foot long tank on that. Your stand looks wider than 12 inches to me.

A 55 gallon tank is about a foot wide, not 18 inches.

A 75 is about 18 inches wide.

Both are a little over 18 inches high.
