It's hilarious that you keep clinging to this as being the reason, when people like myself, Mystery, and Totes could fricking care less about which console people choose to play. Having separate threads makes it easier to connect with others playing on the same console as you, then discuss when people want to get together to play, what went on when playing together, etc. These threads tend to have multiple sub conversations going on in them at a time, so combining three different groups of players that are having those multiple sub conversations and it'll become hard to keep up. I understand your idea of having one thread for a general conversation, but once everyone gets rolling and starts playing together, the discussions are going become based more on playing experiences together.

I just don't understand why it bothered you so much to have separate threads, honestly. You've also mentioned the Destiny threads, which were pretty big. Both of them were pretty successful, but would have been extremely chaotic if they were combined. Again, at some point, the time people spend here eventually becomes more about discussing getting together to play and what went on. That's not cliquish, there's just less to talk about with people you don't play with.
