People take it too far criticizing school districts for closing due to expected weather. A lot of times we don't get the predicted amount but the schools cannot take the chance of having thousands of kids on buses with bad weather and flooding.
No one is impressed that you (not slackster specifically, you as in everybody) think you're tougher than today's 6-18 year olds. No one cares when their grandfather talks about walking two miles, uphill both ways to school and no one cares that schools close more often now than when you were in school.
There are plenty of things to criticize school districts about. They're generally bad at their jobs but not wanting to bankrupt themselves with lawsuits over bus accidents is relatively smart.

What is particularly weird is that the people who get pissed are the ones without kids. I somewhat understand the inconvenience of getting someone to watch your kids or what not, but for the single guy working at Chic-fil-a, it is harmless.

thats all well and good, but what about the extra expense forced on families to hire a sitter or make alt. arrangements for the school closures. What about the impact on the employers who have parents out of work cause they have to stay home unexpectedly?
What about the negative impact of crying wolf- should the "event" not be so eventful. Criticizing what appears to be an irrational decision by leaders who are known for over reacting to everything isn't adding inches to your dick. Its legitimately questioning the rationale of the people who are supposed to make informed, rational decisions. Not Chicken Little (and chicken shite) emotional decisions based on fear.
