I make my patients wait 48 hrs after starting the antibiotic. Sometimes after you start the antibiotics there is a flare up in the infection that may warrant a trip to the emergency room (probably <2%). If this is gonna happen it usually happens during the 24-36hr mark and I don't want you to have to deal with the flare up and a fresh extraction site at the same time.

Granted I am speaking in general, I have no clue the peculiarities of your mouth, nor the size and location of your infection, which could change everything. Hope y'all figure it out.

thanks. It's the bottom right wisdom tooth. Definitely pericoronitis. Been hurting for 3 days now. Started antibiotics yesterday evening.
