So I really appreciate the two guys who tried to follow my friend and I around the Dark Zone tonight trolling us. It earned me about 2 Dark Zone levels, 10 Dark Zone keys, and a shite ton of Dark Zone funds.

I also really like the people who make it really obvious that they are going to attack people who are trying to extract. Standing around it with no loot bag and following people around.

I hit DZ rank 10 last night at lvl 13, got a blue FAL and a Blue SMG lvl 13. Keeping that Rank 10 and slowly climbing to rank 30 to keep me with current Blue / Purp (at 30) weapons is going to really help the grind.

Did it all solo in 45 min and extracted about 20 blues.

Should I continue just to do side missions up to a certain level? Is it better to go at it alone than join on with some random people? Is there anyway to speak with the randoms I work with? So new to this haha. The only online game I've played on Xbox in the past five years has been FIFA.

Had a green one around level 8 that I liked a lot. Strikes that balance between AR and MR that I want. With a SMG for backup, I find that to be a great setup.

Throw shock turret, engage with FAL. Once the shock turret is killed or runs out and they start advancing, switch to SMG and clean up. Works in the DZ too against elite enemies.

I have been doing the missions solo. I decided to go into the dark zone for the first time last night solo and got wrecked pretty quickly. I ended up joining up with some other guys and it was much more fun. I leveled up to 11 with all blue gear very quickly. DZ is now my go to, but you need a group of people or extractions can get very frustrating.

I was using an AUG for awhile and gun shredded while it was still good for my level. Almost no recoil at all.

If you mix SMGs with the Pulse skill you can get up to around 40-45% crit chance, even at low levels. When you add that to the rate of fire, you can generate some impressive damage

I ran assault rifle and SMG up until level 14, now I finally got a decent sniper and I'm using some police assault rifle and a sniper. One Issue I ran into constantly was running out of ammo, but I got the perk on my support station that doesn't take ammo from your reserves when you reload when you're standing inside and it's been a game changer.

The devs did their state of the game discussion recently


Two things of note:

1) Rogue penalties in DZ will probably be reduced

2) shotgun rushers ( lightning symbol) will NOT be nerfed. The devs feel there are adequate ways to deal with them

There have been many complaints that PvP is very rare in high level Dark Zone areas because the penalties are too great. If all they do is blanket reduce penalties, it will increase pvp and you won't be able to do anything without a 4 man group in the DZ. Do not like that as I play solo the majority of the time or with 1-2 others. And from what I understand, you need DZ gear to be able to do

The thermostat you copied from Reddit is a good idea.

My only disappointment with this game is that it looks like all the DLC will be squad based.

I am at lvl 23 hoping to hit 30 before Friday, I leave for Thailand and Cambodia for 11 days.
