She was taking medicine for the past 10 years that had a substance in it called Meldonium.

It was recently banned by WDA early this year. She didn't know and kept taking the medicine.

She failed the drug test.

Meldonium - It is used in Lithuania and the Russian Federation, but is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in the United States.

Meldonium is clinically used to treat angina and myocardial infarction.

Perhaps her next move is one familiar to those who have fallen on drug related hard times- having sex on camera for money

I feel like the headlines are almost unfair to her. They make it seem like she's some malicious wrongdoer. No type of context or anything.

I mean she should have known, that is obvious but how do they ban a substance she has been taking 10 years?

The Latvian company that manufactures meldonium says the normal course of treatment for the drug is four to six weeks -- not the 10 years that Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova says she used the substance.
