Houston and Austin are garbage.

DFW area is the GOAT.

Austin wouldn't be that bad, but the traffic there is horrendous, same with Houston.

DFW has its traffic issues, but not near as bad.

You either like Dallas or don't. Count me on not liking it. It's huge with a lot of sprawl. Ignoring the suburbs, the city culture is very big and flashy. I'm kind of understated and never felt like I fit in well. Only place I've been that I felt inferior for not buying a vehicle I can't afford.

I have lived in suburbs near Fort Worth, Dallas and Houston.

If you are into the cowboy culture then Ft Worth is just right for you.

Dallas is home to more arrogant, pompous asses than you can imagine. I would not use the phrase warm and friendly to describe the population.

In the summer, the temps in DFW area can be 95 at 10:00 pm. They also have ice storms in the winter along with snow.

Houston has more of a Southwest Louisiana feel to it due to its location near the gulf. I have lived in the Houston are for 20 years and I only recall snow 3 times and 1 time where ice closed down the freeways. The people are much more friendly and they are many more Louisiana transplants.

I would never live in the downtown area of any city, I prefer life in the suburbs.
