You hit 14 drivers (max) a round and 30-36 putts. But people just want to pound drivers on the range.

I go one day a week at lunch and just putt. 5-10 footers only. Then spend 30-45 min on Sat mornings doing putting drills. I spend very little time on lag putts or medium range putts.

That's true to an extent, but there is a tremendous amount of statistical value one gets from driving the ball well. There are a lot of lost shots when you drive the ball poorly. I learned that the hard way.

If someone is really good off the tee and really good from 40 yards and in and on the green, then the rest takes care of itself.

I can't duck-hook a putt out of a white-staked OOB and lose stroke and distance like I can with my driver.
