bedding the stock
Good move, and not hard to do if you follow the directions. A dremel tool helps remove material easily. I'm guessing you bought a synthetic stock? I've bedded several wood stocks and only one synthetic. All were successful, but remember, the glass doesn't bond as well to synthetic stocks (if at all) as it does to wood. There is a good trick you can do to secure the bedding material even if it doesn't bond at all. Cut away several cavities into the side of the stock where the glass can overflow into. Once dry it will be mechanically locked into place.
