A non working Rolex for $1200 is a good deal if you know what you're getting. If you don't know what you're looking at, and you have to ask if it's a good deal, it probably is not.
I am a huge rolex sub mariner fan and consider myself to be somewhat knowledgeable, I think I would be concerned about buying that watch for $1200 unless I knew the specifics.
It's going to cost $700 just to get an overhaul from Rolex and that's assuming nothing inside is broken or needs to be replaced. Depending on what's causing it to not run, it could be as much as $3,000 not counting the basic overhaul cost.
To put it into perspective I just recently had my wifes 5513 non date repaired. It was $2400 just in parts alone....
