Because only a 12-year-old would use TV schedules to argue his/her point.

"It comes on TV more so it obviously must be better!"

The Godfather comes on zero times in the next 14 days, so obviously Good Will Hunting is the better movie.

I agree with you about using TV scheduling as being foolish......

But GWH is better than the Godfather.

Nevermind that frequency on TV is not solely a product of popularity or quality, but is also a product of whether whoever owns the rights to said movie has sold them to various TV networks, one TV network or refuses to sell the rights. Or only allows to be shown a limited amount of times, as in the case of Its a Wonderful Life which is only on once or twice a year now, where as in the past it was shown to death.
