I know. Like I said, good production. He really only put 2 good swings on the ball, though-- his first hit and the homer. Papierski put 2 good swings on the ball as well-- they were both line drives out to the first baseman. I am obviously not trying to be negative towards Romero, I am just stating that statistics can be very misleading over such a short sample size and I knew that everyone would look at the stats and say that Romero is ahead of Papierski when that just isn't the case. There is not even a competition for catcher. Papierski will be the starter.

This is the way I would have the lineup based on what I've seen:

1. Duplantis RF
2. Freeman SS
3. Fraley CF
4. Beau Jordan LF
5. Deichmann 1B
6. Bryce Jordan DH
7. Papierski C
8. Lochridge 3B
9. Robertson 2B

I don't think anyone really is considering him as a catcher replacement, if they are then they are dead wrong. No one is taking Paps spot, he is far away the best defensive catcher on staff and he was very unlucky this weekend.

I think people are on the Romero for DH campaign.

I thought we looked like a young talented team. As you could expect for opening weekend we had some base running head scratchers, kicked the ball around a bit, and swung at some bad pitches. I like the fact that we are being extremely aggressive on the base pads. I think with a little time under us some guys with solidify some key positions.

Like others have stated, i like the Freeman kid. Scrappy player that plays with a lot of passion.

I know Cincy is pretty poor, but we played better than i expected overall.

No kidding, but you said he was not outstanding at the plate during this small sample size, which is freaking ridiculous.

Nobody is saying this. We know baseball. Paps had a shitty weekend at the plate and Romero had an outstanding weekend at the plate and that is all it was--one weekend.

Think the Romero to starter crowd is referring to Designated Hitter. Mike is light years better behind the plate. However, I watched all day and only caught the weird quadruple mitt tap twice today when Romero was catching!
