But I am preparing myself for the worse. If he leaves I hope we get a big flashy name and a legend. Perhaps then when we have a loss there will be not be weeks of recrimination and we can enjoy life again. We might even be able to enjoy the wins like we should

Here's the difference.
Nobody will be excited for the upcoming season if Miles stays. The spring game,errr scrimmmage will only have about 5000 people there in attendance.
I believe if we make a splash with a big name coach, (SOS, TT, etc) the spring game could easily boast more than 15,000 people. That's just the difference.
It's kinda like getting all excited about getting a new car and then you have to settle on a used car that you really don't like, although it does run.
